Bio
Hailing from the Washington DC metropolitan area (DMV), Tripp became a multi-instrumentalist by the age of 12. While in his senior year in high school, he became the bassist and Music Director of the band “Maliaka,” an R&B Top 40 band sponsored by Prince Georges County Schools. Out of this same band came Meshell Ndegeocello, Stephen Dent (Bad Boy/Daddy’s House Engineer) and Anthony “Scooty” Wellington, bass player with the Victor Wooten band.
After serving in the United States Air Force, he began his professional music career as the audio engineer at Ultimix Studios (later Full Spectrum Multimedia), and then as an engineer/producer at Strong Arm Entertainment.
Tripp is currently a staff producer at Sonark Media located in Hillsborough NC.
He is currently the Producer/Bassist and MD for former Prince vocalist Shelby J
